The Washington Nationals play in the National
League East. The Nationals/Expos have a wonderful history which
began in the
late 60's as the club was launched in 1968 in Jerry Park. Players
such as Andre
Dawson, Tim Rock Raines, Jeff Reardon, The Grande Orange - Rusty
Staub, Andres
Gallaraga and Later Stars Larry Walker, Marquis Grissom and Pedro
Martinez were
some of baseballs best. Do to poor attendance and lack of local
political support,
the team was move to Washington. The team's once terrific farm
system was depleted
by former GM Omar Minaya who made short-term trades looking to
salvage what
he could of the farm system to build a winner. That has resulted
in the Nationals
being a doormat for the rest of the league. Current stars include
Ryan Zimmerman
and Adam Dunn lead a young and improving group of players.
